The factory that produces the fabrics for our jeans processes not only recycled cotton but also organic cotton in the fabrics. This cotton is grown on our own organic cotton fields to keep the production process in-house. Organic cotton uses less water and employs far fewer pesticides, allowing everything that lives around the cotton plants to remain alive. Moreover, the cotton fields are located close to the factory, minimizing emissions from transportation.
Better Cotton Initiative
"As the icing on the cake, our fabric supplier is affiliated with the Better Cotton Initiative (BCI). Companies that are committed to a better environment and a more responsible way of producing cotton have joined this initiative. Together, they have agreed on a more sustainable way of producing cotton. They adhere to the following six agreements:"
- The harmful impact of crop protection on the environment is limited;
- Water is managed efficiently and availability of water is ensured;
- Healthy soil is being taken care of;
- Natural habitats are maintained;
- A good quality fabric is provided;
- Work is being done in a decent manner.
